A-Lift Crane Hire was delighted to support the production team behind Clarkson’s Farm with the relocation of the now-famous wooden goose hut from Diddly Squat Farm to The Farmer’s Dog pub, where it was transformed into the Christmas grotto featured in Series 5.
The project required the safe lifting, loading and relocation of the timber structure from its original position in a field to its new home at the pub. With the production schedule to consider, the operation needed to be carefully planned and executed efficiently, ensuring the structure could be moved safely and delivered on time.
Following the initial request for assistance, A-Lift’s team quickly developed a lifting plan tailored to the requirements of the project.
We supplied our 70-tonne Tadano ATF70-4G mobile crane, alongside Britlift’s modular lifting beams, to provide the equipment required to lift the structure safely ensuring the shed could be removed from its original location and positioned for transportation before being delivered and installed at The Farmer’s Dog.
The relocation was completed safely, on schedule and without disruption to the production timetable. The wooden goose hut was successfully moved from Diddly Squat Farm to The Farmer’s Dog, where it became the Christmas grotto featured in Series 5 of Clarkson’s Farm.
Although the lift itself did not make the final edit of the show, the smooth execution of the operation demonstrated the value of thorough planning, specialist lifting equipment and an experienced team. In lifting operations, a job that goes exactly to plan is often the best possible outcome.
As an added highlight, our team also had the opportunity to meet Jeremy Clarkson, Kaleb Cooper and Charlie Ireland during the project.
