One of our regular clients contacted us, regarding a long term project in North Leicester lifting palletised materials and solar panel packs to the roof of a busy factory unit.
The start date was confirmed and we organised the first site visit to confirm the crane location and capacity to lift the required materials to the locations wanted, the main concern for this job was just how busy the site was. We needed a number of different crane locations over two different buildings, the use of two types of crane were also required. Tadano ATF70G– 4 (70 tonne crane) and a Spiering AT6 mobile tower crane.
The requirement for a two cranes was due to the roof being double pitched meaning our Tadano wasn’t able to get over the main first roof to the second landing location. The use of a mobile tower made everything so much easier.
With the site being so busy and in operation 24hrs/7 days a week, it was decided that going in between shift changes was the best plan for rigging. When arriving on site the crane went straight into the rigging location before the team completed and signed off all required paperwork. The area of the factory was sectioned off under where the crane was working. The area the crane was rigged in was part of a section of building where lorries came to fill silos and so the exclusion in place enabled the lorries to continue to do their required works. A total of 40 loads were lifted during our first visit and the client was again very happy with the service provided.
