On the first visit, the crane proceeded to the agreed rigging area, with the crane team comprising crane operator, crane supervisor and slinger-signaller, initially attending the site office to complete Deeley’s compulsory full site induction and to pass over all the crane details, proof of inspections, personnel qualifications and the lift plan documentation for discussion and signature by all relevant parties. Once all the relevant document checks were completed and signed off, the crane team returned to the rigging area to set up the crane according to the lift plan drawing. They were then able to carry out the required lifts for the day under the supervision of the crane supervisor. Once the required lifts for the day were completed, the crane was derigged and exclusion zone removed and the crane driven safely off site. We have continued to carry out visits to the site and are looking forward to completing works on future care home projects for them.
